What Is BWRT Level 1

BWRT® (Brain Working Recursive Therapy®) is a modern psychological therapy developed by Terence Watts. It is designed to help people change unwanted emotional and behavioural responses quickly and effectively.

Unlike many traditional talking therapies, BWRT works directly with the brain's natural processing systems, helping to create new responses before unwanted reactions have a chance to take hold.

BWRT can help with:

  • Anxiety and excessive worry
  • Panic attacks
  • Fears and phobias
  • Health anxiety
  • OCD-related patterns
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Confidence and self-esteem
  • Procrastination and self-sabotage
  • Success inhibition
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Performance anxiety

BWRT does not require hypnosis, and you remain fully aware and in control throughout the process.

FAQ's

What happens in an introductory call?

In this no-pressure call, we discuss:

• what you’re struggling with
• what you’d like to change
• how quickly you want results
• which programme fits you best (Level 1, Level 2, or BWRT Plus)

You can ask anything. The call is simply about clarity.

Is it confidential and private?

Yes. Everything discussed is handled with strict confidentiality, meaning your information is protected and not shared without your consent

Sessions take place either online via Zoom or face-to-face in Guildford, Surrey, and the experience is surprisingly calm and comfortable. You’ll stay fully alert, fully in control, and you won’t be asked to relive distressing experiences. Most clients describe the session as “light,” “focused,” “relieving,” or “like something finally clicked into place.” And because BWRT® works with the brain’s natural speed, shifts can happen quickly — sometimes even during the session itself.

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone is unique, but most clients need between 2 and 4 sessions for a single issue. Some feel a shift even after the first one. We’ll discuss your goals in your introductory call and create a plan that suits you.

How quickly does it work?

Many issues shift in just a few sessions. The goal is efficient, targeted change rather than long-term therapy.

Do I have to talk about my past?

No. BWRT works without analysing or revisiting painful experiences. The focus is on changing your current response.

Is it done online or face to face?

Both work equally well. Online sessions allow you to be in your own space and can feel more comfortable. Face to face offers a more direct, in-room experience. The method itself is the same

Will I lose control or feel overwhelmed?

No. You remain fully in control at all times. Sessions are structured and paced carefully.
